- Japan's leading international newswire - is seeking an English-language correspondent in Geneva. From our offices at the Palais des Nations, we cover international organizations based in Switzerland, such as the UNHCR, WHO, WTO and the Human Rights Council, as well as political and economic developments in the country.

The successful candidate will provide support to the bureau chief by, inter alias:
-Attending press briefings and transcribing key points.
-Summarizing UN and other reports.
-Following the Swiss media and translating articles.
-Organizing interviews and trips.


The correspondent will also be expected to write English-language articles, to be distributed internationally, as long as it does not hinder the main task of supporting the bureau chief. THE CURRENT ENGLISH-LANGUAGE OUTPUT AVERAGES SEVERAL ARTICLES PER WEEK.

Requirements:
-Excellent spoken and written English.
-Fluent French and the ability to speak and read German.
-Basic knowledge of the politics and economy of Switzerland. -Valid work permit. -University degree in International Relations, Political Science, Economics or other relevant fields.

The candidate must also be able to work under tight deadlines, with minimal supervision, and be willing to independently take initiatives. Additionally, knowledge of the UN system and Japan will be considered an asset.

This position is a fantastic opportunity for a recent university graduate interested in pursuing a career in journalism, with a focus on international politics and economics. No prior experience is required.
